Fick among finalists for scholarship
Cassandra Fick of Litchville, N.D., is among 10 students from North Dakota and western North Dakota who is a finalist in the Chevy Scholar program. Four finalists will receive $5,000 scholarships from the West Dakota Chevy Dealers and Heartland Chevy Dealers. Winners will be determined by the number of online and text votes the student receives from friends, family, peers, teachers and communities until March 6.

More than 250 students applied.
To vote online, go to www.chevyscholar.com/finalists, sign in, choose the name of the student to vote for from the list of finalists and click “submit.”
To text a vote, go to www.chevyscholar.com/finalists and find the code for the finalist you wish to vote for. Then text that code to 27126.
Students either nominated themselves for the scholarship or were nominated by family, friends, parents, teachers or coaches. Finalists were determined by their community involvement, academic achievements, extracurricular activities, volunteer work and an essay.
Voters can vote once per day throughout the voting time-frame. Voting closes at noon March 19; the winners will be announced on March 23.
