Jamestown Fire Department calls:
March 9: 11:03 a.m., ready squad responded to 1300 Second Place NE (Eventide at Hi-Acres) to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: detector malfunction. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.
March 11: 3:02 a.m., the ready squad responded to 1121 Second Ave. SW (single-family dwelling) to investigate a report of carbon monoxide. Firefighters checked for the gas and detected 60 ppm. Occupants were advised to leave immediately, due to the high reading. Cause: gas appliance malfunction. Time out: 1 hour.
March 11: 3:40 a.m., the ready squad responded to 1119 Second Ave. SW (single-family dwelling) to investigate a report of carbon monoxide. Firefighters checked for the gas and detected 430 ppm. Occupants were advised to leave immediately, due to the high reading. Cause: gas appliance malfunction. Time out: 25 minutes.
March 13: 9:18 a.m., the ready squad responded to 1306 15th Ave. SW, (single-family dwelling) to investigate a strange noise. Firefighters checked the structure and found an electronic device being the cause of the noise. Time out: 20 minutes.
March 15: 10:50 a.m., the fire department responded to 1101 14th Ave. SW (single-family dwelling) to a report of a fire in an oven range. Fire was out on arrival and firefighters extracted smoke from the structure. Cause: oven range malfunction. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 30 minutes.
