State Hospital honors long-serving workers

The North Dakota Department of Human Services presented 98 employees of the North Dakota State Hospital with years of service awards to recognize their dedicated work and continued commitment to serving the people of North Dakota. Awards are presented annually to staff who reach certain milestones of service. Employees honored include:

40 years: Tim Randall, Eva Tesky and Ann Wilson.

35 years: Sue Bjerke, JoAnn Deede, Perry Finck, Joanne Lorenz, Wallace Schock and Kenneth Schulz.

30 years: Melody Kemmet, Debra Peterson and Tami Rumer.

25 years: Duane Duff, Janine Huebner, Karin Klose, Colleen McCoy, Bruce Ochsner, Jane Price, Dean Rowell, Linda Rutherford, Daryl Sommerdorf, Randy Switters, Steven Wenzel and Barb (Emo) Widmer.

20 years: Gayle Chapin, Linda Guthmiller, Todd McDowell, Emmy Opskar, Joan Smith and Allan Weisenburger.

15 years: James Cofield, Alyce Ebele, Donna Enzminger, Tyra Heinert, Jolene Kleven, Anita Monek, Marilyn Slaughter, Dale Soleim and Dawn Trelstad.

10 years: Roger Block, Rodney Brandt, Lincoln Coombs, Kathleen Heller, Marlene Kemmet, Martin Monek, Amy Walker and Dr. Ed Yabut.

The N.D. State Hospital also recognized these recent retirees: Linda Bjone, Marilynn Cason, Frank Clemens, Paula Damien, Katherine Fallgatter, Jerry Harrington, Diane Hastings, Rodney Johnson, Sally Peterson, Joan Wagner and Robert Walker.

The N.D. State Hospital employs about 450 people, and provides short-term and long-term inpatient mental health and addiction treatment services for adults, children and adolescents whose needs exceed community resources. The hospital serves as the inpatient mental health provider for the Devils Lake, Dickinson, Jamestown and Williston regions of the state because those regions do not have private hospitals that provide inpatient psychiatric services.
