GRAFTON, N.D. (AP) — A Grafton man charged with attempted murder will be allowed to seek medical treatment at a Veterans Affairs hospital in Minnesota.
Fifty-seven-year-old Rodney Ebertowski allegedly charged at Walsh County deputies and Grafton police with a knife after a drunken car accident in February. His attorney asked Judge Laurie Fontaine to allow Ebertowski to be evaluated and treated at a VA hospital in St. Cloud, Minn.
The Grand Forks Herald reported that Fontaine agreed to the change in bond conditions but denied a defense request to reduce the amount of Ebertowski’s $150,000 bond.
Ebertowski also faces other charges in the case: terrorizing, preventing arrest and reckless endangerment.
