Jays gymnasts honored, Lind, Westereng named to all-state gymnastics teams

Alex Lind and Mercedes Westereng have been named to the all-state gymnastics team. Lind, who placed third overall at the state meet last month with a score of 37.17, was named to the first team along with seven other girls from across the state.

Alex Lind and Mercedes Westereng have been named to the all-state gymnastics team.

Lind, who placed third overall at the state meet last month with a score of 37.17, was named to the first team along with seven other girls from across the state.

Lind, a junior, earned runner-up honors at the state meet on floor with a mark of 9.867.

Westereng, a senior was named to the all-state second team, which also included eight honorees for a total of 16.

Westereng was 16th in the all around at state. She came in 12th on floor.

The Blue Jays placed fourth as a team at the state meet.

Jennifer Albers, Bismarck Century; Jessica Gabriel, Bismarck Century; Alex Lind, Jamestown; MacKenzie Keidel, Bismarck; Kaylee Keller, Bismarck; Acacia Fossum, Dickinson; Misha Taylor, Minot; Kiara Bock, Fargo Davies.

Second team

Mercedes Westereng, Jamestown; Shalesa Wariner, Dickinson; Mikaela Kessel, Dickinson; Payton Ringoen, Minot; Samantha Huether, Minot; Ally Hall, Fargo Davies; Natasha Usselman, Fargo; Madie Uglem, Fargo.
