ND jail inmate died of alcohol-related problems
An autopsy has concluded that a Burleigh County jail inmate who died over the weekend suffered from health problems related to alcohol addiction.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — An autopsy has concluded that a Burleigh County jail inmate who died over the weekend suffered from health problems related to alcohol addiction.
Forty-year-old Bernard Hewitt was arrested on Thursday night on a fugitive from justice warrant out of Montana. The Bismarck Tribune reports that Hewitt became sick on Saturday morning and was taken to a Bismarck hospital, where he died. Burleigh County Sheriff Pat Heinert (HY’-nurt) says Hewitt had heart and liver problems.
North Dakota's state jail inspector will review the case.
