The Jimmie track and cross country programs have added another Blue Jay.

Joe Jensen, a distance runner, has signed a letter of intent to compete in track and cross country at Jamestown College.

Jensen was a team captain for the Jamestown High School cross country team in 2011 and was named the team’s hardest worker. He’s also active in National Honor Society, Science Olympiad, speech, FBLA and French Club.

“I’m real excited to have Joe further his education at Jamestown College and honored to have him come out for our cross country and track and field teams,” said JC men’s head coach Ed Crawford. “Joe is a young man who I think will really excel at the next level as the college distances are more suited to his abilities.

“Having known Joe for the last two year, I know he is an outstanding young man, both in the classroom and when he competes, always giving 100 percent.”

He is the son of Frank and Stephanie Jensen. He plans to major in biology or chemistry at JC.
