Erickson awarded Wilson Scholarship

Jace Erickson of Jamestown has been awarded a full tuition Wilson Scholarship from Jamestown College.

Jace Erickson of Jamestown has been awarded a full tuition Wilson Scholarship from Jamestown College.

Erickson was selected among students participating in an on-campus interview, essay and examination process in February.

The Wilson Scholarship provides full tuition renewable for four years and was established in memory of the late Dr. John L. Wilson and his wife, Palma. John Wilson served on the college’s board of trustees from 1957 until his death in 1983.

Recipients of the scholarship must demonstrate commendable academic and leadership skills.

Erickson, son of Judy Hager and Lee Erickson, plans to major in music education. During his Jamestown High School years, he has been active in National Honor Society, soccer, Concert Choir, Show Choir, Vocal Jazz, Wind Ensemble, jazz band, Northern Ambassadors of Music, Northwest Festival of Music, theatre, speech, youth group and Christian Mimes.

Nicholas Lee, Valley City, and Mikala Osborne, Columbus, Mont., were also awarded Wilson Scholarships after the February competition.
