Optimist Club cites athletes for awards
Jenna Stilwell and John Nagel of Jamestown High School and Adam Ranger of Jamestown College have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.
Jenna Stilwell and John Nagel of Jamestown High School and Adam Ranger of Jamestown College have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.
Stilwell, a freshman on the JHS girls’ track team, place second in the triple jump and high jump and seventh in the long jump. Her mark of 34-4 in the triple jump was a state-qualifying mark at the March Madness meet in Bismarck.
Nagel, a senior on the JHS track team, tied for second in the high jump and ran legs in the Blue Jays’ third-place 3200 relay and seventh-place 1600 relay in Bismarck.
Ranger, a junior on the JC baseball team, fired a 4-hit shutout in a 7-0 win over Midland Lutheran (Neb.). The Naches, Wash., native had five strikeouts and one walk.
