Dorgan in Fargo Monday for signing of new book

Retired North Dakota senator Byron Dorgan will celebrate his latest book, “Blowout,” with an appearance and book signing at 7 p.m. Monday at Barnes and Noble bookstore in Fargo.

Retired North Dakota senator Byron Dorgan will celebrate his latest book, “Blowout,” with an appearance and book signing at 7 p.m. Monday at Barnes and Noble bookstore in Fargo.

Dorgan will give brief remarks and answer questions from the audience, according to a news release. Dorgan’s co-author is David Hagberg, author of more than 70 novels including “Joshua’s Hammer,” “Soldier of God” and “The Cabal.”

The premise of the thriller is America’s addiction to foreign oil according to a news release from the book’s publisher, Forge Books.

The book goes on sale nationwide on Monday.

Dorgan, a former U.S. senator from North Dakota, is now a senior policy advisor for a Washington law firm. He announced on Jan. 5, 2010 that he would not seek re-election in that fall’s election. Dorgan had served as a congressman and senator for 30 years.

Dorgan also is author of “Reckless!: How Debt, Deregulation and Dark Money Nearly Bankrupted America (And How We Can Fix It!),” published in 2009; and “Take This Job and Ship It: How Corporate Greed and Brain-Dead Politics Are Selling Out America,” published in 2006.
