Pasta company consolidating DL, Cando operations

Pasta maker Noodles by Leonardo is consolidating its operations in Cando and Devils Lake.

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — Pasta maker Noodles by Leonardo is consolidating its operations in Cando and Devils Lake.

Plant manager Jay Janssen tells the Grand Forks Herald that the Devils Lake production will be moved 40 miles to Cando over the next several months. The Devils Lake Industrial Park building the pasta maker occupies is being sold to a Minnesota company that plans to make recyclable food containers.

Janssen says company officials have been considering the move for a couple of years to make the operation more efficient.

Details of the move are still being worked out. The Cando facility has 33 employees, while the Devils Lake plant has about 15.
