Man pulled from river at Fargo, taken to hospital

Emergency crews rescued a man who fell into the Red River in Fargo.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Emergency crews rescued a man who fell into the Red River in Fargo.

Authorities say the man apparently slipped Sunday night while walking across a railroad bridge between Fargo and neighboring Moorhead, Minn. A man who was with him asked a nearby homeowner to call 911, and fire department officials in a boat came to the rescue.

The man in the water was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

It was the second time in a matter of days that authorities had been called to the river. Last Thursday, a man jumped from the Main Avenue Bridge into the water, later telling police someone bet him money to jump in.
