Janna Bergstedt introduced speaker Joyce Heinrich at the Kiwanis Club noon luncheon on March 19 at the Lantern Room.
Heinrich is on the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission and spoke about the dog park that will be finished in the coming months. The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department is developing approximately 2 acres in southwest Jamestown for Pepper’s Dog Park. The park will be located west of McElroy Park across the James River at 103 13th St. SW. The park will include several features: small and large dog fenced areas, water access, shaded areas, trees and benches. A training and agility area is planned for the future once funding is available. The land for the park was donated by Reuben and Clarice Liechty and the park will be named after their son’s dog, Pepper.
Sandy Franke led the meeting attended by 18 members. Wes Hart led the group singing. Alexis Wang from Jamestown High School Key Club collected “Happy Dollars” for pediatric care at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Member, Mitch Brecto, will introduce Greg Allen from Cavendish Farms at the April 2 noon luncheon Kiwanis meeting at the Lantern Room.
