Speech team students place
The Jamestown Speech Team competed at Bismarck High on March 17 for the Go Green Meet. No team scores were tabulated. Three more state qualifiers were named: Morgan Baumgartner in Poetry, Matt Baumgartner in Storytelling and Jana Lynch and Jace Erickson in Serious Dramatic Duo. Morgan Baumgartner also placed fourth in Serious Prose, while Matt Baumgartner finished eighth in Impromptu Speaking.

Other finishers in Impromptu were Lynch, seventh; and Megan Kapp, sixth. Erickson also took third place honors in Poetry, while Kapp took second and Libby Kruse finished sixth.
In Radio Broadcasting, Jasmine Glasgow took sixth place, while Joe Jensen finished with fifth-place honors. Brittany McIntyre placed fifth in two events: Speech to Entertain and in Humorous Duo with partner Lynch. Also finishing in Humorous Duo were Brittney Carpenter and Hunter Carpenter in eighth; Hunter Carpenter also placed fourth in Storytelling.
Jessica Vandal placed eighth in Humorous Interpretation and Brittney Carpenter and Mikayla Patel earned Top Novice awards in Serious Duo.
The season is coming to an end; the schedule for the remainder is: regional meet in Bismarck on April 14 and state meet in Devils Lake on April 21.
