Fire calls for March 31, 2012

Jamestown Fire Department calls:

March 6: 12:12 p.m., fire department responded to 428 1/2 2nd St. SW (Bridge Point) to a report of a fire on a deck. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause: smoking materials. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 30 minutes.

March 17: 3:09 p.m., fire department responded to 1507 11th Ave. NE (parking lot) to a report of a vehicle fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause: undetermined. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 55 minutes.

March 19: 12:29 p.m., the ready squad responded to 2605 Circle Drive (North Dakota State Hospital-Lahaug Building) to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: dust in detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 40 minutes.

March 20: 7:32 a.m., the ready squad responded to 2404 Circle Drive (North Dakota State Hospital-Tompkins Building) to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: dust in detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 35 minutes.

March 20: 4:37 p.m., the ready squad responded to 501 19th St. NE (Ava Maria Village) to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.

March 26: 11:21 p.m., the ready squad responded to 910 Second Ave. SW #6 (multi-family dwelling) to investigate smoke odor. Firefighters found a haze of smoke, no fire. Cause: unattended cooking. Time out: 25 minutes.

March 28: 8 a.m., the ready squad responded to 519 Ninth Ave. SE (single-family dwelling) to investigate a report of carbon monoxide. Firefighters checked for carbon monoxide and detected 0 parts per million. Time out: 25 minutes.
