Two-semi crash one kills driver

A weekend crash involving two semitrailers in the western North Dakota Oil Patch killed one of the drivers.

ROSS, N.D. (AP) — A weekend crash involving two semitrailers in the western North Dakota Oil Patch killed one of the drivers.

The Highway Patrol said 49-year-old Larry Becker of Lewistown, Mont., was driving a semi that rear-ended another semi on state Highway 1804 in Mountrail County and rolled on its side in the ditch. Becker died at the scene shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday. The driver of the second semi was not hurt.

The patrol said both semis had to brake hard to avoid a sport utility vehicle that had braked and swerved in front of them.
