Toastmasters hear speeches at meeting

The Jamestown Toastmasters met on March 27. Toastmaster Martin Monek shared some information about John Deere tractors, specifically the Model H John Deere tractor. Speaker Deb Alber did a speech about her hobby of geocaching. Speaker Anita Monek spoke about the 2012 fall conference for toastmasters, which will take place at the Gladstone Inn & Suites on Oct. 26 and 27.

Anita Monek evaluated Alber’s speech and vice versa.

General evaluator Melissa Goodrich shared her thoughts on the overall quality of the meeting and gave suggestions for improvement. Paul Behle was timer.

Award for best speaker went to Alber. Award for best evaluator went to Monek.

There was one guest at the meeting.

Member dues of $40 are due as soon as possible. The toastmaster for this week is Daron Locina, and the speaker is Behle.

The club meets at 6 p.m. every Tuesday in the basement at St. James Basilica. Guests are welcome.
