The Jamestown Sun nabs several AP awards
The Jamestown Sun won two first-place awards in the 2012 Great Plains Associated Press News and Photo Contest for medium-sized dailies.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The Jamestown Sun won two first-place awards in the 2012 Great Plains Associated Press News and Photo Contest for medium-sized dailies.
The newspaper made an especially strong showing in the photography categories of the annual contest, winning eight awards of a possible 12. In each of those wins, John Steiner was the photographer.
The Sun's staff also won third place in the editorial category.
The contest was open to 40 AP-member newspapers in three size divisions covering the states of North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.
