Chili cookoff raises funds for meals program
The Buffalo Mall presented a check to the James River Senior and Community Center for $2,819.30, which was raised during the seventh annual Business Leaders Chili Cook Off. All of the proceeds from the event went directly to the Meals on Wheels program. Included in this amount was $874.30 raised from the RSVP+ Bake Sale and $100 from Music Masters of Jamestown.

The Buffalo Mall also announced the announced the winners of the cookoff fundraiser, held March 24 at the mall. There were 20 businesses that took part in this event.
The People’s Choice Award for the best tasting chili went to The Jamestown Sun, represented by Gavin Kutz, Lisa Barnick and Austin Bauer.
The award for the “Most Money Collected” was presented to Jamestown Classic Catering, represented by Bobbi Sahr, Denise Page, Rhonda Sahr, Mary Gainsforth, Diane McIntyre and Rick Docktor.
Two new awards were added. The Most Unique Chili award went to Classic Catering and Best Dressed Chili Booth award went to James River Transit.
Businesses, organizations and business leaders taking part were American Cancer Society, KISS 93.3, Running of the Pink, Rent-a-Center, Loaf & Jug, Scott’s Electric, Mrs. N.D. America, RSVP +, Classic Catering, James River Senior and Community Center, James River Transit, Yoga Journey, First Community Credit Union, Alpha Opportunities, GLIKS, Interstate Engineering, Bison 6 Cinema, Roaming Buffalo Camping Club and Buffalo Mall.
