BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Fargo businessman Jim Roers is being appointed to the North Dakota Senate.
Roers is a Republican. He will finish the term of former Fargo Republican Sen. Tom Fischer, who died late last year. The term ends in December.
Roers will represent District 46, which includes southeast Fargo. Republican district activists have endorsed Roers to run for a full Senate term this fall.
The appointment becomes official later this week when Roers files the needed paperwork with Secretary of State Al Jaeger's office.
Roers is president of a Fargo property development company called Roers Development.
