Two injured in Tuesday car crash

Nearly $10,000 in damage and two injuries were reported in a Tuesday two-car crash, according to the Jamestown Police Department. The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 16th Street Northeast.

Nearly $10,000 in damage and two injuries were reported in a Tuesday two-car crash, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 16th Street Northeast.

Taylor Borseth, 20, 1634 Fifth Ave. NE, was driving a 2008 Nissan passenger car southbound on Fifth Avenue at the 1600 block approaching the intersection of 16th Street.

Kyralyn Kainz, 21, 721 15th St. NW, was driving a 2009 Pontiac passenger car westbound on 16th Street Northeast approaching the intersection of Fifth Avenue.

The drivers entered the intersection at the same time. Borseth struck Kainz.

Borseth was taken by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center complaining of an injured wrist and neck pain. Kainz complained of leg pain but declined an ambulance.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

There was an estimated $6,500 in damage to the Nissan and an estimated $3,000 to the Pontiac.

Kainz was cited for failed to yield at intersection.
