Suspect in Minot shooting is sentenced to prison
A man charged with attempted murder in a Minot shooting has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and been sentenced.
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A man charged with attempted murder in a Minot shooting has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and been sentenced.
The Minot Daily News reports that 22-year-old Jade Kaisler was sentenced to two years in prison for aggravated assault. He also pleaded guilty to criminal mischief for damaging a window at the Ward County Jail. He was ordered to pay $62,400 in restitution in the assault case and about $2,200 for the jail window.
Authorities say Kaisler shot another man four times in the leg at a convenience store in December 2010.
Kaisler was given credit for more than a year he already has spent behind bars.
