Bow hunters in Fargo are getting another chance to hunt deer along the Red River starting this fall.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Bow hunters in Fargo are getting another chance to hunt deer along the Red River starting this fall.
WDAY-TV reports that city commission voted to continue the urban deer hunt for the sixth year. Officials say 45 special permits will be available for the bow hunt, which starts in September.
City officials say last season's hunt culled 21 deer in Fargo.
.Fargo began allowing bow hunting in certain park areas along the Red River in 2006, to curb the growing deer population. Residents complained deer were destroying yards and threatening safety.
