Class B roundup: Cardinals roll

The Carrington Cardinals improved to 4-0 on the season with a 15-4 victory over Region 3 opponent Lakota/Adams-Edmore in Carrington on Tuesday. The Cardinals scored five in the first, five in the second and five in the fourth as they rolled handily. Logan Clifton notched the win on the mound for Carrington, allowing one earned run on four hits while walking one and striking out five.

The Carrington Cardinals improved to 4-0 on the season with a 15-4 victory over Region 3 opponent Lakota/Adams-Edmore in Carrington on Tuesday.

The Cardinals scored five in the first, five in the second and five in the fourth as they rolled handily. Logan Clifton notched the win on the mound for Carrington, allowing one earned run on four hits while walking one and striking out five.

Carrington’s bats were hot, as they rang up 13 hits — including five doubles and a triple — on Lakota/Adams-Edmore starter Josh Johansen. Marcus Hewitt has a pair of doubles for the Cards on a 2-for-2 day at the plate with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Carrington’s Taylor Skytland went 3-for-3 with a double, 3 runs and 1 RBI, while Alex Nelson smacked a triple and picked up 3 RBIs.

Harvey-WC 17, Midkota 3

Similar to Carrington’s win, Harvey-Wells County also cruised to a Region 3 victory over the visiting Midkota Mustangs.

The Hornets hung a 9-spot on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second, and that’s all the offense they’d need. Landon Littlefield notched the victory on the hill for Harvey-Wells County.

At the plate, the Hornets’ Brock Hagemeister went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, Mark Nyhus went 3-for-4 with a double and 4 RBIs, and Wyatt Toso drove in 5 runs.
