JC hosts Ebrahim Victory Monday
The Jamestown College Convocation Committee is hosting Ebrahim Victory as he presents “The History of the Universe,” at 7 p.m. Monday in Voorhees Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
The Jamestown College Convocation Committee is hosting Ebrahim Victory as he presents “The History of the Universe,” at 7 p.m. Monday in Voorhees Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
Victory will discuss the history of the universe from its birth at the time of the Big Bang some 13.7 billion years ago to the present and describe how, why and when it will end. His talk will accompany many photographs taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and other instruments.
Victory is the author of numerous articles related to space exploration, astronomy and cosmology. He grew up in Tehran, Iran, and came to the United States in 1952 to continue his education. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in mechanical engineering. He was involved in research projects at MIT during his graduate studies and continued them for various government agencies such as the Air Force, Navy, NASA and many private corporations with respect to the Nuclear Weapons Effects Program.
