Rabbits raise alarm on house fire
Some pet rabbits warned a Finley woman and man about a garage fire that damaged their home.
FINLEY, N.D. (AP) — Some pet rabbits warned a Finley woman and man about a garage fire that damaged their home.
The rabbits were kept in the garage. Steele County Sheriff Wayne Beckman said Tracy Jacobson noticed the fire after she heard the rabbits making noise early Thursday.
Jacobson and her live-in friend, Ron Everson, tried to douse the fire themselves before they called for help.
Beckman said the fire spread to the home and caused extensive damage. He said two rabbits died in the blaze.
The sheriff believes the first started near an electrical outlet in the garage. The house is located about five miles west of Finley
