Jamestown Fire Department calls:
March 28: 3:30 p.m., the ready squad responded to 424 First Ave. N. (Loaf-N-Jug) to investigate a fuel spill. Firefighters checked the area where the spill occurred and advised them that they would need to put floor dry down and clean it up. Cause: fuel hose broke. Time out: 15 minutes.
March 29: 2:36 p.m., the ready squad responded to 401 Third St. SE (Essentia Health) to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: fire alarm test. Fire alarm was rest. Time out: 30 minutes.
April 1: 1:51 a.m., the ready squad responded to 208 Fourth Ave. SE (single-family dwelling) to investigate smoke odor. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: unknown. Time out: 15 minutes.
April 2: 12:56 p.m., the fire department responded to 601 Fourth St. NW, (single-family dwelling) to a report of a fire. Fire was out upon arrival and firefighters extracted smoke from the structure. Cause: cooking. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 25 minutes.
April 8: 12:17 p.m., the fire department responded to 408 Third St. SW (single-family dwelling) to a report of a fire on the outside of the structure. Firefighters extinguished a fire in a trash container and investigated. Cause: undetermined. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 20 minutes.
April 10: 9:16 a.m., the ready squad responded to 1811 Western Park Village, (single-family dwelling) to investigate smoke alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: detector malfunction. Time out: 25 minutes.
April 10: 1:30 p.m., the fire department responded to 810 18th St. SW parking lot (pickup camper) to a report of a camper on fire. Firefighters found no fire and investigated. Cause: propane gas line. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 20 minutes.
April 10: 2:45 p.m., the ready squad responded to 1600 11th Ave. NE (multi-family dwelling) to investigate a smoke alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: electric range. Time out: 25 minutes.
April 12: 8:16 p.m., the fire department responded to the area 411 13th St. NE to a report of a fire in a tree. Firefighters stood by until Otter Tail Power Co. arrived on scene. Cause: overhead power lines arcing. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 45 minutes.
