Legion Auxiliary learns of poppy day

EDR American Legion Auxiliary met March 27 at the All Vets Club with Myrna Ronholm, president, presiding. Peggy Widmer from Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, gave a presentation about the Day Dream program for residents.

The Poppy Committee set May 18 and 19 as poppy distribution days.

Americanism Chairman Dorothy Speidel has received essays from the middle school and Louis L’Amour Elementary. The essays will be judged and winners will be notified.

Plans for the June 2012 convention are being completed.

The Girls State chairman and co-chair met with the girls at the high school and five girls are planning on attending.

The next meeting will be April 27 at the All Vets Club.
