Colton Harkins, of Kalispell, Mont., and Kyle Nielsen, of Culbertson, Mont., have signed letters of intent to compete with the Jamestown College men’s track and field team next season.
Nielsen will also participate on the Jimmies’ cross country team.
“We are very excited to have both Colton and Kyle choose Jamestown College to further their education and to compete for us,” Jamestown College head men’s track and field and cross country coach Ed Crawford said. “Both are outstanding young men in the classroom and in their events.”
Harkins is the son of Mark Harkins and Christy Harkins. He plans to major in history education at Jamestown College. At Glacier High School, he has also been active in basketball.
“Colton is a great javelin thrower who should be a national qualifier real soon,” Crawford said. “He will also explore another throwing event in college as he has unlimited potential as a thrower.”
Nielsen is the son of Jens Nielsen and Laura Christofferson. He has also been active in FFA and basketball at Culbertson High School, and plans to major in biology/chemistry and Jamestown College.
“Kyle will give us a lot of depth in our middle-distant group in track and field and be a great addition to our cross country program,” Crawford said. “He has been all-state the last four years in cross country.”
