The Big Sing, a choir concert featuring more than 300 men hosted by the Jamestown Choralaires, is at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Civic Center. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available from any Choralaires member, at Country Gardens Floral or at the Civic Center.
Courtney Hanson performs a vocal recital is at 2 p.m. Saturday in Voorhees Chapel on the campus of Jamestown College. There is no admission charge.
Auditions for “Annie” for students in grades 3-12 are from 3:30 to 5 p.m. April 30 and May 2. For more information, contact 952-4140.
A bluegrass jam with the Whoever Can Come Band is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Barnes County Historical Society, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City. There is no admission charge.
Jamestown Community Open Mic is at 7 p.m. every fourth Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 405 Second Ave. NE. All performers are welcome.

“What’s Cooking in the Cook Car?,” a lecture by Christi Kracht, is Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Barnes County Historical Society, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City. There is no admission charge.
“Finding Polaris II,” a free planetarium show, is at 2 p.m. Saturday in room 310 of the Rhoades Science Center on the campus of Valley City State University. There is no admission charge.
Around Town
Wood carving with a local wood carving group is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Arts Center’s Hansen Studio. There is no charge. Call Andy Kudrna at 320-5075 with questions.
Roller skating is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sundays at Wilson Arena. Cost is $5 per person and the length of the season depends on participation.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and by appointment only Sunday. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.
Alfred Dickey Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464. The library is located at 105 Third St. SE.
Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 Fifth St. S.E.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation.

The Jamestown Quilters Guild’s art is on display at Unison Bank for the month of April. Unison features a new artist is its lobby each month.
