Letter to the editor: Look at money lost moving oil and consider a refinery

I was reading an article in The Jamestown Sun the other day by Stephen Lee of Forum Communications on record oil production — 558,254 barrels per day for February. The article stated the discount North Dakota takes because of the transportation difficulties is $24 per barrel.

Take that $24, then multiply that by 365 and that is a whole lot of revenue North Dakota is losing. That leaves this question: Does North Dakota need a refinery and can we afford it?

Run the numbers and have a great day.
