Plane returns to Jamestown due to smoke scent in cockpit

A flight from Jamestown to Williston, N.D., was aborted at approximately 10 p.m. Friday after a person smelled smoke in the cockpit, said Ben Maulding, airport operations at Jamestown Regional Airport.
The plane came in from Minneapolis, landed in Jamestown and took off for Williston. After a few minutes, the smell of smoke prompted the plane to turn around and return to Jamestown, as flight protocol dictates, Maulding explained.
No one was injured.
Seven passengers and three crew members deplaned. Two passengers were picked up, and five were driven to Williston by Great Lakes Airline, Maulding said.
A mechanic from Williston was brought in to fix the plane.
