Va. Commonwealth AD is finalist for next Minn. AD

Virginia Commonwealth athletics director Norwood Teague has been announced as a finalist to be the next athletics director at Minnesota.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Virginia Commonwealth athletics director Norwood Teague has been announced as a finalist to be the next athletics director at Minnesota.

University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler made the announcement on Twitter on Sunday afternoon. The Gopher athletics department also tweeted the announcement on its official site.

Kaler has said his goal is to pick a successor in May for Joel Maturi, who's stepping down July 1. No other finalists have been announced so far.

Teague has been AD at VCU since 2006. He joined the Rams after five years as associate athletics director at North Carolina
