The Blue Jays finished with a split in their first West Region games of the season.
After sweeping Dickinson on Friday, Jamestown High School dropped a pair to Williston on Saturday, 6-5 and 9-2.
Tyler Krenz tossed a complete game in the opener on Friday as the Blue Jays won 3-2.
The tall right-hander surrendered just two hits and got solid defense behind him.
The Blue Jays only had two three hits. Danny Fischer had two of them, walked twice and scored two times.
In Game 2, Brady Anderson and Tyler Ukestad each had 2 hits as they had eight total in five innings. They scored in every inning, topped by a 6-run top of the fourth.
Shaun Hogan worked the first four innings, allowing three runs to get the win. He and Ukestad allowed only four hits.
Williston 6-9, JHS 5-2
The Coyotes won it in the bottom of the eighth to claim the region contest, 6-5.
After being held scoreless the first six innings by Coyotes pitcher C.J. Vinger, the Blue Jays hung 5 runs on the board in the top of the seventh for a 5-1 lead. The Coyotes answered to tie with 4 in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.
Anderson clubbed the Jays’ first home run and had two of their 5 hits. Landon Weiser tripled
Riley Schafer pitched well, but was saddled with the loss.
Williston scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning in Game 2 and went on to win 9-2.
Ukestad had two hits to lead the way.
The Blue Jays are back in action Tuesday when they host Bismarck St. Mary’s at 4:30 p.m.
