Potato stocks down 5 percent in N.D.

FARGO (AP) — Potato stocks in North Dakota are down 5 percent from a year ago.
The Agriculture Department said growers, dealers and processors in the state held 5.6 million hundredweight of potatoes in storage on April 1.
Current stocks represent 30 percent of production, up from 27 percent in 2011.
Nationally, potato stocks on April 1 stood at 116 million hundredweight, up 4 percent over the year.
