The Stutsman County Commission met briefly in special session Tuesday and approved an emergency grade raise for Stutsman County Road 39 in St. Paul Township, should it become necessary.

The county already did an emergency grade raise last summer and another one in the fall, which is now washing away, said Casey Bradley, county auditor/chief operating officer.

The commission also authorized to bid permanent repairs work on the road, located just north of Stink Lake. If the permanent repairs can be done quickly enough, the emergency grade raise may not become necessary.

Bids for the permanent repairs will be opened May 15.
