Official to discuss USS North Dakota construction
The executive officer for the USS North Dakota nuclear submarine being built on the East Coast will be in Fargo this week to talk about the construction.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The executive officer for the USS North Dakota nuclear submarine being built on the East Coast will be in Fargo this week to talk about the construction.
Lt. Cmdr. Jeremiah Minner will speak on Tuesday at a dinner sponsored by the North Dakota Council of the Navy League of the United States. On Wednesday, he will speak at a news conference and at a luncheon hosted by the area Chamber of Commerce.
Construction on the submarine began in March 2009. It is to be commissioned in 2014. A keel-laying ceremony is scheduled in Rhode Island for May 11.
