Jamestown speech team finishes seventh at state
The Jamestown Speech Team competed at the State Class A speech meet on April 21 at Devils Lake High School. The team finished seventh out of 18 teams.
The Jamestown Speech Team competed at the State Class A speech meet on April 21 at Devils Lake High School. The team finished seventh out of 18 teams.
The results are as follows: Brittany McIntyre finished ninth in Entertain; she also placed fifth in Humorous Duo with her partner, Jana Lynch. Lynch also competed in Serious Duo with Jace Erickson, and they placed sixth. Erickson was also in Poetry where he finished third, and Morgan Baumgartner placed fifth. Baumgartner also placed in Serious Prose with seventh.
Joyce Zhan, a foreign exchange student from China, placed seventh with her speech to Inform.
The team also had three Superior Speakers at state: Matt Baumgartner, Storytelling; Jessica Vandal, Humorous Interpretation, and Joe Jensen, Radio Broadcasting. Erickson was also named to the All-State Team for the second year in a row.
