Jimmies win DAC awards
The Jamestown College softball team cleaned up in the final Dakota Athletic Conference season-ending awards. Junior first baseman Kate Johnson was named Player of the Year and voted all-conference. The Jamestown College softball team cleaned up in the final Dakota Athletic Conference season-ending awards.
Junior first baseman Kate Johnson was named Player of the Year and voted all-conference. Johnson is hitting .418 with 10 home runs and 54 RBIs. She also had a 22-game hitting streak earlier in the season.
Centerfielder Heather Haegele was named Senior of the Year and named all-DAC. She leads the Jimmies with a .439 avg.
D.J. Johnson was named Pitcher of the Year and all-league after going 12-2 with a 2.94 ERA.
Other all-conference members are outfielder Erica Rush and third baseman Kelsie Jensen.
Kevin Gall was named Coach of the Year.
The Jimmies (28-21) open A.I.I. Tournament play on Thursday against Dickinson State (27-21) in Columbus, Ga.
