VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — Five candidates remain in the running to be the next police chief in Valley City.
The finalists include two internal candidates, including Interim Police Chief Mark McDonald. The others are from cities in Michigan, Iowa and Nevada.
KOVC radio reports that final interviews will take place on May 8, 14 and 15. City Administrator David Schelkoph (SHEHL’-kawf) says a decision on the new chief will be made shortly after the final interview.
McDonald was named interim chief last fall when then-Chief Dean Ross resigned amid political turmoil in the city.
