Woman cited after three-vehicle crash

Nearly $18,000 in damage was reported following an early Saturday car accident involving one driver who was cited for DUI, according to the Jamestown Police department.

Nearly $18,000 in damage was reported following an early Saturday car accident involving one driver who was cited for DUI, according to the Jamestown Police department.

The accident happened at about 12:50 a.m. in the 700 block of Seventh Avenue Southeast.

Hope Carr, 19, Carrington, was driving a 1998 Pontiac southbound on the 700 block of Seventh Avenue.

The report said Carr stated she checked her cellphone, looked up and saw a car driving northbound in the wrong lane.

Carr reportedly swerved right to miss and struck an unattended 2009 Ford.

Carr then struck a 2000 Mercury passenger car, also unattended, a few car lengths in front of the Ford.

She left the scene and returned later when police were investigating, the report said.

Carr said she wore a seat belt. She also complained of a hurt forearm and chin lacerations. She declined transport to a medical facility.

There was $5,500 in damage to the Pontiac, $5,000 in damage to the Ford and $7,500 to the Mercury.

Carr was cited for DUI and open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
