Montepelier man charged with felony

A 35-year-old Montpelier, N.D., man was charged with a Class AA felony Thursday in Southeast District court, according to Ashley Heitkamp, Stutsman County assistant state’s attorney.
Ervin Brandvold is charged with gross sexual imposition.
He is accused of engaging in one or more sexual acts with an individual less than 15 years of age from about April 1 through May 2, according to the criminal complaint.
At an arraignment hearing Thursday afternoon Judge Thomas E. Merrick set Brandvold’s bail at $10,000 cash.
A Class AA felony is punishable by life imprisonment without parole, with a mandatory minimum of five years imprisonment and a minimum of five years supervised probation.
