Letter to the editor: Civic Center does service by bringing ‘Called’ tour here

I would like to commend the Jamestown Civic Center staff for working so hard to bring a good quality, family-friendly concert to town. The “Called to Love” tour with Aaron Shust, Down Hear and Jason Gray will be performing on Tuesday at the Civic Center.

I would like to commend the Jamestown Civic Center staff for working so hard to bring a good quality, family-friendly concert to town. The “Called to Love” tour with Aaron Shust, Down Hear and Jason Gray will be performing on Tuesday at the Civic Center.

The fact that Jamestown is situated between Fargo and Bismarck makes it very difficult to book a tour of any kind. Our market is much smaller and most tours will overlook Jamestown and book the larger cities first. Once that happens, you can forget about them coming to Jamestown. Pam Fosse, the Civic Center director, has worked tirelessly to correct this issue, but she cannot do it alone. These kinds of concerts will not happen here if we don’t support them.

I know, through my work, that the language of booking agents is numbers. The more people who respond to these types of events, the better it is for our community.

I don’t want to merely ask people go to a concert and spend their hard-earned money just so we can get more concerts to town. What I really want is for you and your family to enjoy a fantastic concert. It is also a way we can affect our community with wholesome, family friendly entertainment opportunities. I will be there with my family and I urge you to do the same.
