Letter to the editor: Cramer is the right candidate for U.S. House seat

This November, North Dakotans will send one of our three public service commissioners to Washington, D.C., to represent us in the House of Representatives. Given that we can only send one person to this national legislative body at a time, it is critically important that person be possessive of a wide, deep and high appreciation of our state, its people, its industry and resources, and its offerings and needs.
North Dakotans have a wealth of excellent individuals currently in service of our state and in reserve. As we capture the vast energy reserves with which our state has been blessed, sending that energy all around the country to accomplish important tasks, so we must view our opportunity to send human resources to participate in the task of governing. As we have bountiful energy stocks for the nation for years to come, so we have a bountiful stock of outstanding people to send into national leadership.
But for now, times such as they are, we need to tap Kevin Cramer to represent North Dakota in Washington. His widespread experience in and knowledge of our state, coupled with his integrity, congeniality and perseverance, give North Dakotans another opportunity to be proud of our contributions to the national life.
Three years ago, I became permanently and completely blind as result of a head-on collision. “Contrast” and “character” have become two significant words and issues in my life. Examples of contrasts in character are readily evident within all our lives. Cramer represents the character desperately needed by the nation, in shining contrast to the character of too many political leaders today. Through all his years of public service to North Dakota, he remains able and trustworthy, with an overriding desire to do what is right. These years of service have tested and proven his credentials to head to Washington, continuing to serve likewise for North Dakota and our country. Leaders like that do not need to be limited in the time they can serve!
Please join with me, on June 12 in the primary election, in voting for Cramer to represent us in the U.S. House of Representatives.
