USD honoring Native American graduates

The University of South Dakota is hosting a graduation ceremony for Native American students Friday.

VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — The University of South Dakota is hosting a graduation ceremony for Native American students Friday.

This is the fourth year the school has hosted a graduation focusing on the accomplishments Native American graduates. The Native Student Services sponsors the ceremony, which will be at the Muenster University Center.

USD alumna Lynelle Noisy Hawk, an Oglala-Hunkpapa from Fort Yates, N.D., is scheduled to give the keynote speech at the 5 p.m. event.

The ceremony proceeds USD's school-wide commencement on Saturday.
