Mandan woman died of stab wounds

A death certificate filed in the slaying of a 60-year-old Mandan woman says she died of a stab wound and cutting wounds to her chest.

MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — A death certificate filed in the slaying of a 60-year-old Mandan woman says she died of a stab wound and cutting wounds to her chest.

The Bismarck Tribune reported that Gloria Schimidt-Lozensky was found dead in her mobile home in Mandan on April 20.

Police identified 65-year-old Robert L. Mitchell of Mandan as the suspect, but he died two days after the woman’s body was found.

Police said that Mitchell and Schmidt-Lozensky knew each other for a number of years.

Mandan Police Chief Dennis Bullinger said investigators have conducted a number of interviews in the case and are waiting for phone records and results from the state crime laboratory before making any conclusions.

Bullinger said he doesn’t anticipate naming any other suspects in the case or making any arrests.
