Garden club to meet Tuesday

Prairie Rose Gardening Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church by Alfred Dickey Library. The program this month is “Iron Crosses from the Cemetery to the Garden,” presented by Sally Backman.

Backman has traveled across the Midwest and Sweden and has documented many varieties of iron crosses. She will talk about the history of the crosses and where people have seen their use in their lives and in gardens today.

The club’s programs and meetings are open to the public. The guest will speak first and then a coffee break will follow. Hostesses are Rickie Poseley and Jolene Mickelsen. Afterward, the club will hold a business meeting. For further questions, contact Betty at 252-4582 or Gloria at 320-9557.
