ND Wal-Mart selling temporary housing cubes
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is selling some temporary housing units at its store in Williston.
WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is selling some temporary housing units at its store in Williston.
Store manager Ryan Keller tells the Williston Herald his store is the only Wal-Mart selling the cube-like units that cost about $25,000.
The units are only 80 square feet but have two bunks inside, a flat-screen TV, a heating and air-conditioning unit, a refrigerator, a fold-out table, a desk and a small closet.
The units are aimed at workers coming to the oil patch looking for work and a place to stay.
Keller says none have been sold so far.
The units are being sold from the store's parking lot. Wal-Mart recently cracked down on people camping in the parking lot.
