Kayla Thoele’s five-hitter didn’t pay dividends for the Jamestown High School fastpitch softball team on Saturday.
The senior pitcher held Bismarck High to just two runs, but the Blue Jays couldn’t muster any offense as they fell 2-0 in West Region action. Jamestown managed just two hits in the game and allowed Bismarck to score two runs in the top of the sixth.
In the first game, Bismarck won a 12-8 shootout, as Kadie Anderson suffered the loss for Jamestown. The Blue Jays had a 3-2 lead going into the fifth inning, when the Demons exploded for seven runs, eventually taking a 12-6 lead. Jamestown got two runs back in the bottom of the seventh. The Jays outhit Bismarck 5-4.
Jamestown hosts Dickinson at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
