Mandan’s Keela Burt has signed a letter of intent to compete with the Jamestown women’s soccer team for the 2012 school year.

Burt, a senior midfielder at Mandan High School, has been a five-year letter winner. She has served as team captain for the past two years, earning second-team all-conference in 2010-11.

Burt plays her club soccer for Dakota United in Bismarck.

“We are very excited that Keela has decided to join us at Jamestown College,” Jamestown College head women’s soccer coach Phillip Bohn said. “She has the ability to be a very successful winger-type player at the college level. Her drive and determination to succeed is evident in how she plays, and I am really excited to get to work with her starting in the fall.”

In addition to soccer, Burt has been a member of basketball, honor society and student council. She has been an honor roll student all four years of high school, including earning academic all-conference in 2010-11.

Burt, the daughter of Kasey and Carrie Burt, plans to study biology at Jamestown College.
